Rocio & Cyrus | Wedding | Chicago Botanic Garden

Event Planner: Big City Bride | Claire Weller
Event Design: Studio AG Design
Venue: Chicago Botanic Garden
Entertainment: Monastero Entertainment
Cake: Amy Beck Cake Design
Sweet Table: Vanille Patisserie
Printed Materials: Kustom Kreations
Videographer: Leap Weddings Videography
Ceremony Music: Artstrings
Spanish Music: Diego Alonso Spanish Guitarist

I'm so in love with these images from Rocio and Cyrus's wedding. The Chicago Botanic Garden is such a gorgeous venue, especially for an outdoor wedding with beautiful flowers everywhere, which makes for gorgeous backdrops.

The first thing you need to do for your wedding day is hire the right event planner and that is exactly what Rocio and Cyrus did, they hired Claire Weller from Big City Bride to help her bring her ideas to reality. Claire is simply amazing and Bob loved working with her the day of the wedding. Rocio wanted a colorful wedding filled with the most amazing red, blue, pink and purple flowers throughout the entire day, and that is what she received. Studio AG Design was the Event Designers in charge of the lounge, draping, lighting and flowers... and wow did they bring it all together!!! Rocio's talented father hand painted the flowers for the table cards that were hung on a black manzanita tree with ribbon and crystals. During the reception, guests had an opportunity to write love notes to Rocio and Cyrus and hang them on the tree. Such a great idea!

I've been getting to know Kim Zgonena from Kustom Kreations, she has designed some pretty amazing one-of-a-kind invitations, but not just invitations... menus, table cards, programs, custom signage, and more. She's really talented and I love her work. She did a fabulous job incorporating all the colors into the printed materials for this wedding.

Rocio wore a Maggie Sottero gown with a dropped waist and soft organza and lace ruffled bottom. I loved her crystal vine necklace, it was embellished with a red heart Swarovski pendant that Cyrus gave to her as a gift on her birthday. It matched the entire theme of their outdoor wedding! And not to mention how dapper Cyrus looked in his Hugo Boss tuxedo. They make a perfect pair! They did something I have not seen at a wedding before, a "wine blending" ceremony where they blended two different wines. They also did a love letter time capsule ceremony that was sealed in a box to be opened on one of their wedding anniversaries.

They had Artstrings, a string quartet, perform the ceremony music. I really love that Rocio incorporated some of her heritage into their wedding by having Diego Alonso, a Spanish guitarist duo play during cocktail hour while guests were being served mojitos and sangrias. The reception entertainment was provided by DJ, Roberto Monastero, and did he ever keep the dance floor rockin..... all night long! So fun!

I can't thank enough, Zach Brake, our 2nd shooter for assisting Bob at this wedding. He always does an amazing job for us and he drives all the way in from Kentucky to do so! Thank you Zach!!!

I hope you enjoy this gorgeous, colorful wedding. Let's all wish Rocio and Cyrus a lifetime of happy days together!

Rocio & Cyrus | Chicago Engagement Photography

When you know, you just know. I can tell that when Rocio and Cyrus met, they just knew that they were meant to be. Look at the way he looks at her! I love it. They met at work, and after a few weeks of subtle flirting, they went on their first date. For her birthday, Cyrus took her to Maui to celebrate. Little did she know, he was preparing for his proposal. He took Rocio out to dinner for her birthday and then wanted to give her a "gift" so he walked her down to the moonlit beach and proposed. She said "yes" and the rest is history! I'm pretty sure this was an amazing, birthday, vacation, proposal...!!!

Bob and I met this gorgeous couple through Claire Weller at Big City Bride and we are so happy for the introduction. Bob photographed their engagement session last year in early November at the Alfred Caldwell Lilly Pool where they sipped wine and walked amongst all the beautiful fall colors. So pretty! And they wanted some sunset evening photos along the Chicago River which are always a favorite of mine.

We recently photographed their wedding and talk about colorful... I can't wait to share those images!

Lexi's Bat Mitzvah | Northmoor Country Club | Highland Park

Event Planner: Reva Nathan & Associates
Event Design: HMR Designs
Venue: Northmoor Country Club
Entertainment: FLOW Entertainment
DJ: Dance All Night
Linens: BBJ Linens
Videographer: VDO Productions
Lighting: Frost Productions
Montage: Hourglass Films
Games: Record-A-Hit Entertainment

Meet the Aronin Family. Wow... is all I have to say! They are simply fabulous and they can sure throw a beautiful party! We were introduced to Lisa and Jeff through Reva Nathan, their event planner, two years ago when we photographed their daughter's, Ashley and Emily's B'Not Mitzvah. That was an incredible celebration and part of me wondered how they would ever top that party.

Well, between Lisa, Reva and Burt of HMR Designs there wasn't a detail overlooked. Lexi's Bat Mitzvah was "Hollywood" themed with everything from the red carpet entrance into Northmoor Country Club, to the silver Versailles chairs and the paparazzi greeting you at the "Welcome to LA" tour bus. The tent was decorated so beautifully with "LEXIWOOD" in giant vintage lights and huge palm trees towering over the dance floor. The pink and purple lights by Frost Productions gave the room true Hollywood glamor!

If anyone can plan bring your dream ideas for an event to life, you can't go wrong with Reva Nathan. She is amazing and very precise! We always enjoy working with her and Liz. She has a great team. And Burt and his creative team at HMR Designs is nothing less than exceptional. They thrive on design challenges and thinking outside the box. They can make anything happen so don't worry about dreaming big!

We can't say enough about FLOW Entertainment... they ALWAYS have the party dancing! The kids love them and I can honestly say the parents are out on the dance floor just as much as the kids. Truly entertainment as its best! Kareem is your man! Everyone from the DJ, Dance All Night, the creators of the montage, Hourglass Films to the games for the kids, Record-A-Hit, I would say Lexi's Bat Mitzvah was a success!

Thank you Lisa and Jeff for trusting us with your 3 beautiful daughter's Bat Mitzvahs! And thank you Ben Pancoast and Edward Weiland for assisting Bob. We couldn't have done it without you.

Family Fun Portrait Session | Kim & Greg

Wow, it's crazy how fast time goes by. We recently photographed Kim and Greg and their adorable daughter, Alexa. Oh, is she cute and with so much personality!!! Bob and I miss so much when our kids were this little. We met Kim and Greg in September of 2008 to discuss photographing their wedding and we hit it off. You can see their engagement session and their wedding right here.

I can't believe 6 years has passed since we first met. Kim and Greg, we wish you all the happiness in the world. It's beautiful to see the love you have for each other has grown so much since you're wedding day!
